The natural surrounding environment of the Valgraziosa, with its mild, usually temperate and sunny, climate is a perfect place for excursions: walks include either short  ones along signalled routes or longer ones, which may last for more than a day on foot or on horseback. For those preferring bicycles: the cycle tracks of the lower basin of the ARNO (Pisa) are easily reached from the village.

For centuries, if not from time immemorial, there has been a tight relation between Calci and the olive tree and the precious golden liquid produced from its fruits. The oil of Calci “the good one” is among the most genuine products of the entire Monte Pisano.

The Calci cuisine descends directly from the great gastronomic regional tradition: the bruschetta (toasted bread with garlic, oil and salt), the maccheroni (a type of pasta), the bartaluccio (fried pastry) and the sweet and strong duck (prepared during the festivities).

Those whom appreciate good cuisine will have the possibility of savouring delicious meals at the nearby “Il Conventino “ Restaurant, which caters for luncheons and dinners.
